482 TEMPORARY SKILL SHORTAGE VISA
​(EMPLOYEE SPONSORSHIP)
This visa enables employers to address labour shortages by bringing in genuinely skilled workers where employers can't source an appropriately skilled Australian.

This will require proof that you are unable to fill the role from within Australia, and subsequently your sponsorship of the worker.

This involves an application process that can take several months to complete.

SPONSORSHIP PROCESS
We have prepared a short summary of the sponsorship process here.

FOR THE POTENTIAL EMPLOYER
  1. Register with the department of immigration to become a 'standard business sponsor'
  2. Prepare a job description for the role
  3. Market test the role to demonstrate the need for sponsorship to fill the role
  4. Identify the candidate
  5. Submit the nomination for the candidate using your 'IMMI' account. 
  6. After this the candidate will apply for sponsorship. 
FOR THE POTENTIAL EMPLOYEE
  1. Apply to VisitOz 
  2. CV / resume is promoted to potential employers / sponsors
  3. Complete skills assessment
  4. Demonstrate level of English
  5. Organise Health exams if required 
  6. Complete visa application
