Situated in the charming town of Hughenden, North West Queensland, the Royal Hotel is approximately 380km west of Townsville. Our establishment is thoughtfully designed to ensure that every traveler enjoys a comfortable stay.
The Royal Hotel features 45 rooms, including family, single, queen, and twin units, along with several semi self-contained options. Guests can indulge in our fully licensed bar and restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day of the week, complemented by TAB and Pokie facilities.
Additionally, the Royal Hotel boasts an in-ground pool, BBQ area, self-serve laundry, and two outdoor decks ideal for entertaining.
Each motel unit is equipped with shaded seating areas complete with tables and chairs right at the front, many of which are nestled among beautiful tropical palms, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploration.

Requiring Hotel all rounder – reception, cleaning, bar (assistant) restaurant.
Country town hotel / motel, 45 rooms, bar, bottle shop, pokies and TAB shop.
Hughenden is a small country town and regional centre – population approx. 1100.
Busy season runs from approx. March to 2nd week of December.
Ideally seeking a worker until December 2026.
38hrs per week minimum (to secure visa) up to 45 hours per week
2nd visa qualifying postcode, 4821 (remote and very remote Australia)
(Tourism and hospitality work carried out from 22 June 2021 in the following areas of Remote and Very Remote Australia is considered eligible specified work for the purpose of a second or third Working Holiday (subclass 417) visa application lodged from 5 March 2022.)

8-10 workers, 4/5 backpackers, 5/6 local Australian workers
Accommodation
Accommodation provided in a self-catering share house with other workers, own bedroom, shared bathroom and kitchen etc.
Travel
Flight to Townsville, normally from Brisbane.
Bus to Hughenden from there. (Greyhound, Approx 5 hours. $70, in 2026)

Days off / weekends off etc
Will be able to arrange rostering for some time off for a long weekend to visit family etc in Melbourne. Visitors also welcome.
