Redbank North’s 1300 acres (520 hectares) have for over 100 years been recognised as some of this country’s finest grazing land. James and Fiona Middleton became the landowners and operators of Redbank North in 1979.
For the past 35 years some of these acres have provided the ideal environment for spelling racehorses and broodmares. Due to the success of this spelling operation the horse area was increased in 1998 to provide a natural environment for the growing out of weanlings and yearlings.
To complete this picture, the Middleton family purchased Wirrilla in 2007, an additional  520 acres (208 hectares) of rich alluvial river flats on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River

Typical Duties
Working with thoroughbreds, livestock and machinery.
Main duties:
- Caring for thoroughbred racehorses, broodmares and their foals (feed, clean stables, attend to injuries)
- Weaning the foals off their mothers and then handling them
- Preparing weanlings for sale
- Stock work with Cattle and Sheep
- Farm maintenance and gardening.

Seasonal requirements:
In the Autumn, the team at Redbank North will be busy with weaning the foals off their mothers and then handling these weanlings. The team spends a lot of time on handling these weanlings and it can be a rewarding experience.

The job does not involve much riding unless doing stock work.
However, there is horses available to pleasure ride on the farm and are welcomed to do that anytime after work.

Pay
$900 before tax, plus accommodation.

Redbank North is a family business, run by a small friendly and welcoming team.

Living / Accommodation 
There is a comfortable furnished cottage on the farm for accommodation and Redbank North will provide lunches and food during the day. Staff shop and cook for themselves for breakfast and dinner.
Staff have access to a vehicle to do a grocery shop once a week.
Lunch + morning tea is provided. Self catering for the evening meal.

Nearest Shopping towns: Harden and Young, the local village Jugiong has a very good fruit and veg grocer
