GENERAL INFO
(please note that this is general information and may not be specific to your role)
Horse Stud
Raheen is one of Queensland’s longest established nurseries, having been founded in 1957 by the parents of the present day owner Basil Nolan. Being a family run operation, unquestionable personal care and attention is Raheen’s top priority.
Owned and operated by the Nolan family – Basil snr, his wife Diane, and daughter-in-law Natalie, Raheen offers every service from stallions to sales preparation, from foaling to agistment.
“We’ve been doing it a long while now and in fact we are moving ahead to having the fourth generation of our family involved in running Raheen. The legacy of Basil jnr who tragically passed away in November 2018, is being carried forward by his four children – Basil, Lily, James and William.
“Raheen’s success has been founded on our uncompromising attention to detail. We acknowledge our success is directly linked to the success of our loyal clients and we are committed to working with them to breed quality thoroughbreds,” said Basil.
Located adjacent to the Great Dividing Range, a comfortable 130 kilometres west of Brisbane, Raheen consists of rich alluvial creek flats, rising to undulating hills. The Glengallan Creek runs through the farm, with irrigation water sourced from six underground bores, supporting Raheen to produce its own fodder and lucerne hay, with the thoroughbreds continuously grazing on green pastures.
A leading vendor each year at Australia’s major sales, Raheen has been responsible for breeding ‘graduates’ including Seasons Bloom, Oak Door, Hard To Catch, I’m Belucci, Chapter And Verse, Adebisi, Club Command, Kiss A Rose, Snippets Land, Too Good To Refuse, Throssell, Sylpheed and many more to come.
