About the Role:
The position is for an overnight stable hand to assist the veterinarian on duty to care for hospital horses and foals and to assist with foaling down. Shift starts at 6pm and finish the following morning at 7am on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. No weekend or day work is required.

No previous veterinary experience is needed as this is a stable hand roll out not a nursing position. Previous equine work experience in stables or equine industry would be viewed favourably.
Overnight tasks include but are not limited to:
Handling and restraining horses for overnight treatment and care.
Foaling watch.
Post foaling observation of mare and foal.
Observation and feeding of foals overnight.
Night checks on patients and reporting to veterinarians.
Maintenance of hospital and stable hygiene.
Assisting with artificial breeding of mares.
Assisting with care of horses for overnight surgical procedures.

About the workplace:
Equine Veterinary Hospital and Breeding Centre
Murray Veterinary Services, provides professional and comprehensive Equine Services to the regions of Serpentine, Mandurah, Pinjarra, Dwellingup, Waroona and Harvey.
2nd Visa eligibility:
Is a regional postcode, however the work may not specifically apply, unless the role is employed under stud operations.

Work conditions and pay:
Phone/Wifi available. Vehicle available for local travel only. Meals not provided.
Days off: Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Casual animal assistant intro level: $30/hr
Living and accommodation:
Small 1 bed / 1 bath / kitchen cottage. The accommodation is located onsite beside the hospital.
