WORK IN AUS:
Here in AUS Merel has been working for Dave and Jane Manchon of 'The Night of the Horse' show for 1 month, because of a passion for horsemanship, trickriding, horseback archery and shows.
This included
- Taking care of all animals and keeping the yard and all running, preparing horses and everything for the show, taking care of showhorses, stallions, breeding mares, and so on, helping them before, during and after the show with the horses and doing some jobs on and of stage during the show, main yard/stable duties.
STORY SO FAR:
Merel is from SW Netherlands.
She attended a specialist equestrian college, completed a 4 yr L4 qualification in Equestrian sport and husbandry management from age 16-20.
Mostly her work has around horses; has worked with many different kinds of horse farms (see below)
Throughout, from 2014-23 she has worked as a waitress in various restaurants, often holding down 2/3 jobs at a time.
RELEVANT SKILLS:
She started riding age 13, and has a history of different horse work experiences: 2016-18 working p/t at a riding school caring for the horses, riding and cleaning stables; 2018 a 3 week internship in Ireland at a jumping training stable, 2018-19 p/t at a ’troubled horses’ centre, 2020-23 full time at a livery stable, all duties including handling young horses, riding and all day to day duties. Her experience has included riding schools, jumping, trick riding, mounted archery, breeding, troubled horses, dressage, livery and stud farm, assisting the vets, farriers etc. Loves to race too. Calm, confident and passionate around horses.
Used to day to day practical tasks around the stables. Experienced with a shovel. Keen to learn to operate tractors, buggies etc.
PERSONALITY ATTRIBUTES AND INTERESTS:
Good English, strong, fit, used to physical work with and around horses. Smiley, quiet, unassuming.. Reasonable cook for family type meals. Happy to help with cooking and children. Used to helping children with riding lessons.

HOPING FOR: Keen for any work with horses; determined to experience and learn about all disciplines; keen on track riding. Available for 3 months at least. Keen for any work with horses; would like some riding, possibly track riding.
