To Whom It May Concern
Re: MARTHA TAUNTON-BURNET
I know Martha Taunton-Burnet for the past six years in my capacity as Deputy Principal of Hillbrook Anglican School. It is with great pleasure I recommend Martha for her pursuits within Australia and abroad.
Martha stood out as a role model in our school community and beyond. She is a natural leader, having held the position of Student Representative Council (equivalent of Prefect) during her senior years of schooling. This position saw Martha lead our School community. Martha was an ambassador for the School at Open Days and community services such as annual ANZAC Day services, and assisted the School community to raise awareness and funds for charity. In this position, Martha demonstrated a genuine care, compassion and respect for others, and a deep commitment to supporting all members of the community. Also during this time, Martha remained an active member of our School community through her involvement in our Drama program, three school musicals, Queensland Youth Theatresports, Choirs and Ensembles and bands, seeing Martha achieve one of the School’s highest accolades of an Outstanding Commitment Award. These are examples of Martha’s exceptionally high standard of commitment to the life of the School, while balancing her academic contributions.
Martha has a community mindset and disposition. One way in which Martha demonstrated this was through her volunteer work in the community. Martha dedicated her time to the Smith Family Reading program, where she formed a connection with a young person to assist with improving their reading levels. Martha’s commitment to such community initiatives reflected her deep desire to help and support others, and her focus on building the confidence and capacity of young people across Australia.
Balanced with her community and extra-curricular involvement, Martha achieved highly in her academic pursuits during her secondary schooling. Knowing Martha’s dedicated and disciplined approach to her studies, she would successfully carry these traits directly into a variety of opportunities outside of school and immediately be able to flourish.
Martha has shown outstanding maturity and responsibility in all that she has been involved in. She is sociable, a natural communicator, has a sense of adventure and fun, and is emotionally intelligent beyond her years. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Martha and have every confidence in her success from an academic and community perspective.
Please feel free to contact me should you require any additional information.
Yours faithfully

LETTER TO WERDENFELS GYMNASIUM HEADMASTER - dEUTSCH
10. Dezember 2025
Sehr geehrter Schulleiter Christoph Hagenauer und sehr geehrtes Schulleitungsteam,
Hallo!
Martha Taunton-Burnet

LETTER TO WERDENFELS GYMNASIUM HEADMASTER - ENGLISH
10 December 2025
Dear Headmaster Christoph Hagenauer and your School Management Team,
Hello! My name is Martha and I am 18 years old. I am writing to ask for your help and advice, and possibly some introductions if possible.
I am writing from Brisbane, Australia, with my Parents, Will and Jules, assisting me, as I plan to travel to Garmisch for several months from January to April in 2026, as part of a work and travel adventure. I have loved studying German at school, and fell in love with your region when I visited on a school trip earlier this year.
My aims are to become involved in Garmisch life as much as possible. Specifically I would like to improve my German as much as possible, ski as much as possible with the aim of potentially becoming a ski instructor in the future. I also hope to find sociable work that allows me to speak and practice my German.
I hope I will also be able to meet local people my own age, and perhaps also other young people from overseas.
I am keen to work, (with a working holiday visa) and am able to work in hospitality roles such as café, restaurant, bar and kitchen. I am also willing to be involved with informal teaching of English, and working with children. I have been a student leader in my school, and I already have a reasonable amount of work experience in different jobs.
It may help to know that I am a singer, and am very keen on musical theatre and drama.
I am writing to you to ask if you know of, and are able to put me in touch with any local and friendly families who may be interested in offering me a homestay/working arrangement for any period of time.
We would be very grateful for an opportunity to talk to you about any possibilities that may exist. We are currently in contact with Max Pohl of the Vivalpin ski school, and he is also kindly looking at ways to help me find my way in Garmisch.
I have created a webpage resume to explain my aims and attributes for the year ahead. I am still working on it, but I hope this can provide information for any initial questions you may have. https://www.visitozworkers.org/marthatb.html
Thank you so much for your time and please do not hesitate to reach out. I would love to hear from you.
With greetings and best wishes,
Martha Taunton-Burnet
