domestic support for the family - Inside outside role
Domestic/Inside Outside Role Includes:
- cooking of Dinners 5 nights for 6-10 people (hearty home style meals for hungry soles using lamb, beef, chicken and plenty of veg)
- Regular baking of biscuits, cakes etc for smoko stores (creating & maintaining a stock pile, no need for fresh everyday)
- keep kitchen and dining areas clean and tidy
- mowing of lawns and basic garden maintenance including whipper snippering and weeding/poisoning
- feeding of domestic animals (chooks, pig and poddie calves) and keeping enclosures clean
- for those with previous experience with children some childcare can be available for those interested (4yr old & 2 yr Old )

Kilterry grazing is a family owned operation comprising of 3 cattle stations between Julia Creek and Richmond QLD , totalling just under 200,000 acres. Across these stations we run around 7000 head of beef cattle and farm 50 Hectares of irrigated and dry land sorghum. Employees will be based on our home block ‘Kilterry' located 90km from Julia Creek (fully sealed to town) and work over each of the stations.
Typical duties
Mustering, drafting, branding, water runs, lick distribution, irrigation, harvesting, ploughing, basic maintenance and repairs to machinery and property award wage, occasional weekend work otherwise Sat & Sun off duty
Cattle mustering by both horse and motor bike. Basic station duties, fencing, lick runs, water checking. Some hay making. Basic machinery and bike repair.
The work would involve cattle work and upkeep etc. the shed work, fencing & checking and cleaning water for stock. At times projects may be taken on such as new pipelines and building.
The main thing I look for in staff is a good honest attitude with initiative.
Living and Travel
Staff accommodation is in a 3 bedroomed very newly renovated cottage - fully air-conditioned, full kitchen, lounge room, large bathroom all shared and own private bedroom. Dinner is prepared for all employees when working and extra food or pre prepared meals available for employees to take to quarters for the weekends. . Currently we have 4 permanent Australian staff who are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The area is a wonderfully friendly and social community with many events throughout the year. We have reliable vehicles available for staff use over the weekend if you are interested in exploring the area and these events.
