GENERAL INFO
We are seeking dedicated, skilled and passionate people to join our team all year around
We are a 120-acre farm located in Wilberforce, NSW, an hour away from Sydney. We have around 120 thoroughbred racehorses on the farm. We offer spelling, breaking in, rehabilitation and pre-training. The job is primarily feeding and mucking out, but as you become used to the routines and procedures you are then able to help us with more complicates tasks.
As a premier thoroughbred farm we aim to prepare the elite racehorse of tomorrow.

Work pay and hours
This is a breakdown of the work, pay and hours at Hannover Lodge.
Hours
5 days/ week, with a day and a half off during the week (for example Wed afternoon and all day Thursday, plus 1 afternoon off rotating Saturday/Sunday afternoon each week) the roster is out 2 weeks in advance
Monday to Saturday the normal morning and afternoon shifts are 6:30-12:30PM, 2-4:30PM. Sunday we start at 7AM.
Morning start times are always the same but finish times and afternoon start times can vary a little from day to day.
Monday to Saturday we start at 6:30-12:30, 2:00-4:30. Sunday we start at 7. Morning start times are always the same but finish times and afternoon start times can vary.
The average hours are between 40 and 45 hours depending on how many horses are on the farm.
Pay rate
This is a FULL TIME position accruing annual/sick leave.
You will also be paid 10.5% superannuation on top into your nominated fund.
Wages are paid into your account each Thursday for the prior period Thursday to Wed work week.
The hourly rate is the award wage (industry regulated wage) for a full time stable hand, more than $21 per hour in Sept 2023.
NB. As you will be in training for the first full pay week, we pay 80% of your rate for those training days.
Accommodation
Accommodation is available to those who require it.
Pay rates:This is an individual room $175/week deducted form your bedding and general house supplies, cleaning services for the main living areas and the bathrooms (fortnightly). It is a large family home 8km from Hannover Lodge. Consisting of 3 bathrooms, 7 bedrooms, large living and kitchen areas, air conditioning.
There is also use of a vehicle to travel to and from work properties and use on your days off. The car is registered, insured and maintained by Hannover Lodge, but it is the responsibility of the people who use it to keep it clean and fuelled up. Hannover lodge is willing to supply 20L of fuel weekly to cover trips to work from the house.
Riding
There are also some nice retired horses to ride in your free time if you are interested. It is hard work, but there is a lot to learn if you're interested. We all love what we do, and that's what's most important.
Development and commitment
We are committed to nurturing people therefore we implement a wage increase to above award after 3 months continuous employment.
We ask for a minimum 3 month commitment, as it takes a while to really get into the swing of it.
We also work in a 2 week trial basis, after week 1 we talk about how you are going and if you or us feel it's not the right fit then we give you the next week of work with us so you can lock in another position if need be.
