GENERAL INFO
(please note that this is general information and may not be specific to your role)
Thoroughbred Breeders
Large to medium sized Thoroughbred Stud Farm situated 25 minutes outside of Beaudesert and 90 minutes from both Brisbane city and the Gold Coast.
We house approx. 150 - 200 horses at any one time and we breed to sell yearlings at all of the major sales throughout Australia. We typically have between 6 to 10 staff at any one time (depending on the time of year). All staff live on farm in good, share accommodation.
During the breeding and sales season (September to February) we work 12 days on and have 2 days off. From March through until the end of August we would typically only work one weekend every 4 or 5 weeks.
All weekend work is required to only do the very basics needed at that time (feeding, treatments and vetting).
We operate at the upper echelon of the industry in Qld and all of our work practices are completed at a high standard of care and professionalism.
We have a very good, friendly team to work beside who are well-skilled and always prepared to assist others improve their skills.
2nd visa eligible
Typical duties
Being part of the Horse Crew at Glenlogan Park involves hands-on work with the horses every day. From basic tasks such as feeding, caring and holding them for farriers/vets through to being involved in the higher skilled foaling unit or yearling preparation team - our farm offers all levels of involvement. Our days are structured around what is required on that day and between the months of September and February the days are typically long and usually fairly hot (as that is the busiest time of the year). Employees need a decent level of competency with horses, have a friendly attitude and ability to fit in with a team.
