GENERAL INFO

Mixed farm: sheep, beef cattle and cropping- Sheep - Cattle
Typical duties
General farm work. Beef cattle, Sheep and Cropping.
Working with sheep and cattle, mustering, lamb marking, trucking, feeding out grain and hay.
Loading grain and cleaning out bins etc
Tractor driving/slashing
Main crops (but not this year!) wheat canola barley chickpeas faba beans. Also oaten hay in good years.
Pulling down and replacing fences
Painting farm gates/ sheds
We use quad bikes for mustering
The Team
It is only Bill and myself most of the time, so working as part of a small husband and wife team.
We do have a share farmer but no crop this year (2023)
Mainly a five day week unless busy time coming up to crutching, shear, planting or harvest.
I’ve spoken to Simone and just waiting to hear back from her.
Living
We have a furnished cottage for workers to use which includes power..We include any produce we have at the time ie eggs/meat. Occasional night meals depending on what jobs are on.
Travel
20 min SE of the small town of Walgett.
Working conditions and Pay
Award wages, day rate.
Weekends we don’t usually work unless it’s a busy time ie harvest shearing etc
