Summary:
A farm work beginner before coming to Australia, now has 7 weeks of various farm experience here in AUS, including part of a shearing crew and volunteering with all duties for 5 weeks on a mixed / organic property, including maintenance and repair.
Really keen to be working in a family farm environment, whether with horses or other livestock activities, and willing to apply himself to all duties and to learn as much as possible.
Looking to work for 3-4 months intially, from 6 November 2023.
STORY SO FAR:
David is from Eastern Germany. He has completed high school, has earned a University place and is considering studying to be a lawyer.
Here in AUS he has worked for a couple of weeks on a shearing crew, but realised this was not what he wanted to do, and then moved to a volunteering role on a small mixed farm near Townsville. Tasks and learning have included animal care (horses, chickens, dogs, rabbits, sheep), mechanical work, using and caring for tools, fencing, organic practices & techniques, environmental recovery/regeneration work, gardening, composting, mulching, etc…
Also some basic welding. This will have been for 5 weeks by early november.
WORK BACK HOME:
He has had a series of mini and part time jobs since age 14, including a call centre, a clothes shop internship / exchange in Bristol, UK, corona virus test centres, escape rooms and DHL postal service.
OTHER RELEVANT SKILLS:
Beginner rider, Has taken riding lessons over the last few months, before coming to an in preparation for AUS and has taken a few riding holidays through his childhood. Enjoys practical and DIY tasks. . Has helped his Dad renovate his Grandparents apartment, and regularly takes on home tasks like mowing, gardening, fixing and repair etc.
PERSONALITY ATTRIBUTES AND INTERESTS:
Excellent spoken and written English, fit, and active. Well mannered and socially confident.
A well organised, focused, motivated and determined. character,
Plays tennis, football and enjoys music. 1.85m & 70kg
