Warmblood Horse Stud
All aspects of horse stud duties –
Feeding 50+ horses, assisting with foaling mares and horse health -
Pastoral - Gardening
Typical duties
We have 57 horses made up of retired broodmares
Young horses foals to 6 years all for sale
Stallions x 5
A few agistment clients horses
The job description is to help with and do all of the following :
Morning and afternoon feed runs
Handling foals teaching to lead pick up feet wear rugs
Wean foals in June
Cleaning yards
Cleaning stables
Keep place tidy
Mowing on ride on mower
Helping the Australian rider here with horses being brought back into ridden work
The job description is mainly focused on working on the ground with the horses and barn duties and farm maintenance .
Helping update website photos dvd of horses for sale by helping with photo shoots on arena or in paddock
Anything else with horse care
Holding horses for vet if sick or injured or being checked fur pre purchase examination
Hold horses for Farrier , Dentist , physio therapy
Anything else related to barn and farm maintenance and horses care .
There is a car they can borrow for shopping .
Feeding and checking horses morning and night with hard feeds and hay
Checking paddocks fences and water troughs and fixing broken fences
Giving horses medications as instructed
Stable duties cleaning boxes and yards, filling hay bags topping up stables checking waterers work and are clean
Handling young horses aged from foals to 5 years
Rugging horses
Holding horses for vet and farrier
Assisting in bringing up horses for sale to show clients and to film and photograph for website sales pages
Assisting with weaning foals
Assisting with foaling down of 6 Warmblood mares monitored with foaling alarms being prepared to be on call as required some of the time as rostered to be on call at nite to come out and help.
Helping rider by bringing in and out horses from the paddock to be ridden sometimes helping to tack them up if already broken in as asked by rider
Pay and related information
The pay is level 1 casual farm hand pastoral award hourly for their age and it is a 38 hour week unless they do approved overtime if asked to and they want to do it .
The hours are 8 am to 5 pm with hour off for lunch and tea breaks working 5 days a week
2 days a week off
Paid weekly
Roster is Tuesday to Saturday with Sunday Monday off or
Sunday to Thursday with Friday Saturday off
If any overtime it's paid at appropriate rate. Sundays are paid at time and a half .
I do deduct for the fully furnished accommodation on farm $ 200 for private cottage $150 if it's the 2 bedroom apartment attached to my main house.

Wendy runs a small team of workers, permanent and full time, that varies depending on the time of year.

YOUR HARD WORK WILL BE REWARDED WITH CLEAN NICELY FULLY FURNISHED SELF CONTAINED ACCOMODATION ON FARM. USE OF THE CAR FOR SHOPPING AND APPOINTMENTS.
Accommodation is turn key ready, It's heated and has washing machine clothes dryer fully equipped kitchen
Towels bed linen blankets Dunas is all there .

LOCATION ONLY 55 MINS FROM MELBOURNE BY TRAIN FROM LILYDALE TRAIN STATION.
TRAVEL TO THE FARM FROM TULLAMARINE AIRPORT IS BY BUS TO MELBOUNE CITY 20 MINS TO FLINDERS STREET TRAIN STATION IN CITY, THEN TRAIN FROM THE STATION DIRECT TO LILYDALE STATION WHERE WE CAN GET YOU BY CAR 5 MINS FROM FARM.
