CLM Equine / Craig Lucas

geNeral information 
CLM Equine is a boutique Dressage, coaching, agistment and training facility that offers a wide range of services as a mentor and trainer running 20-25 coaching lessons weekly. Small facility with approx 20 horses run by Craig Lucas (trained & experience equine/vet nurse) as well as Equestrian Australia Coach, and qualified Judge and trainer.

The Team
​Run solo by Craig and occasional volunteers.

Typical Duties 
The job is likely to be a volunteer/work experience role (occasional the employer may consider offering this as a part time job depending on the circumstances),
​
Daily Tasks:
*Paddock and stable feeding and watering of performance horses
*Lead horses in and out of stables and around the facilities.
*Stables (x 7) - mucking/cleaning out
*Cleaning Tack
*Rugging and un-rugging horses
*Sweeping barn and general cleaning of the facilities
*General maintenance and simple repairs as required
*Occasionally some horses requuire medical care (employer will monitor this)
*Monitoring horse health and safety
*Other horses kept in paddocks
*Depending on the workers skills and experience, some horse riding may be possible
*Horses kept include mares, foals, weanlings, yearlings, a large 18.2 warmblood stallion

It's preferred that the worker has some good experience working with and handling horses, have good attention to detail.  Must be clean, tidy, organised and have a positive, friendly and helpful attitude.

The worker would have the ability to learn many skills from a highly experienced horseman.

An average week could look like:
Tue - all day
Wed / Thur - afternoon feeding etc
Fri - all day
Sat - morning feed etc

​Living
Accommodation - The owner has a large 5 bedroom house on the farm. Craig lives at one end with his own facilities. The worker would be able to live at the other end of the house with their own bedroom and use of the main bathroom with seperate toilet.
The owner also has 2 x small friendly dogs who live at the house and farm.

Gold Coast Hinterland - Boyland, QLD
