geNeral information
We are a business facilitating primarily race horses for Breaking-In and Pre-Training purposes. We pride ourselves on educating our horses to our highest ability, to enable them to be as tractable as possible.
Jake originated in Charleville (South West QLD). Growing up around horses his whole life, working with them every day is just second nature for him. He has experience in many different fields of horse sports; working in racing stables, playing for Australia in polocrosse, competing in campdrafts & rodeos, working in stock camps etc. It is no surprise that he is quite the perfectionist when it comes to working with horses.
CBPT was established in 2015, after our love of horses got the better of us. CBPT started out breaking-in a small amount of horses out of Bahram Stud Training Facility (Westbrook, Toowoomba). From there, we discovered the need throughout the region for a reliable pre-training & breaking in facility. We started off with a 12-horse barn, with a few breakers, and the rest pre-trainers. As the word travelled, we slowly increased in numbers.
Today, we now operate as a company, and can hold 100+ horses. We are extremely grateful to the owners and trainers that have supported us in growing our business, putting their trust in us to look after and train their horses.
They have 2 training locations
Bahram complex is located at 1298 Gore Highway, Westbrook - 10 minutes drive from Toowoomba. We rent 2 barns at this complex. The horses love the quiet ambience of Bahram, and are very relaxed in this environment. The complex has an aqua-walker, several walkers, practice barriers, a well maintained sand track, and we have our own treadmill.
IVANHOE
Across the highway from Bahram, is our spelling farm, Ivanhoe. With over 30 paddocks, we are able to hold over 50 horses, comfortably. We have designed paddocks to be as safe as they can be, for our equine athletes. Many renovations have occurred since securing the property in 2017.
As well as paddocks, we have built two brand new round yards, and can hold 30 horses in yards at Ivanhoe. This is where we commence the breaking in process. We have recently constructed a 50x50m sand arena to be able to build confidence in young horses, before heading over to Bahram and using the track to consolidate their education.
Daily tasks
Will vary depending on your level of horse experience.
Daily tasks include: - cleaning stables.

Rugging horses
Saddling up
Hosing down after work
Feeding and haying horses
Sweeping out the barn
Treadmilling horses
Hosing out the barn
Helping the farrier
Assisting the vet
Performing horse movements in & out of the spelling paddocks
Loading and unloading horses off the truck
Upkeeping general stable cleanliness.
*Riding job - from time to time this employer requires workers who are experienced riders (employer will assess the riding level of the worker before this is offered.)
Location
Located approx 20km from Toowoomba, 2 hrs East of Brisbane. Bus to Toowoomba and normally collect from there.

We have accommodation available , you would have to supply your own food (shops 2 mins away). Phone signal is strong, internet and transport would have to be supplied by you.
