Grain & Cotton Production 2000 acres of irrigated cropping, flood, siphon and boom irrigation. Loads of machinery, graders, earthmovers, scrapers, tractors, laser bucket etc. Growing cotton, and also has a fish farm with 5 staff on a separate property, processing 2 ton of fish per week. Cotton, corn, wheat, barley, sorghum. Irrigating & labouring & operating machinery if capable. Ploughing, planting and harvesting.
Typical duties
Irrigation equipment checking and maintenance, workshop and other repair work, groundwork maintenance and repair, roads etc. Wide range of duties. Normally never doing the same thing for more than 2-3 days at a time. Cotton picking march to May.
Living
Good quality accommodation block. Lunch and dinner provided with food provided for breakfast. Phone and internet available. Vehicle available. 25km to Chinchilla. Days off at weekends.
Travel
Bus drop off at Chinchilla. Brisbane/Toowoomba/Dalby/Chinchilla.
Working conditions and Pay
Good pay at award or better. Working in a small team with a 27 year old male, permanent staff member. (as at January 2023) Award
