Shearing Contractors
Shearing contractor based in Boorowa, QLD, working in 2 or 3 teams in an area approx. 40-100km around Boorowa.
Employs 20-30 people in 3 teams, all based in Boorowa.
Typical duties
Can include moving sheep, medicating, back lining, drenching, assisting the shearers, collecting, rolling, baling, packing wool, keeping the shed clean and tidy. Also other duties as situations require.
Current or previous role info:
Shed Hand: Working in shearing sheds supporting the shearing crew, training provided in the first week or so.
Living and Travel
Accommodation provided in the town of Boorowa.
Boorowa is 1600 people, a friendly active and sporty community.
A charge will be made for accommodation, and the slef catering accommodation will be shared with 1-3 other workers, typically other working holiday nationalities. (Irish etc)
Will be based in Boorowa. Travel to Canberra, then bus or train to Yass, and bus on to Boorowa.
Howard can collect from various locations.
Pay Information
Payment is 'by the run' but equates to approx. $40 per hour. Typically 8 hours per day, 5 days er week, and only occasionally weekend work.
Paid by the run (2 hours) at $80 per run or $40/hr equivalent.
