Horse Stud (Racehorse)
We provide unique and evolving training techniques, data analysis, effective communication, and consistent feedback, with equine welfare at the forefront of our operation. We aim to become Australia’s leading trainer.
Operating in Melbourne (Pakenham Race Club), Brisbane (Eagle Farm) & Sydney (Warwick Farm).
As one of the biggest stables in Australia it is important that ANR employ people who align with our team's values and work ethic. We are building a team of dedicated horse people who work together to look after the horses and each other.
With almost 500 horses in five hand-picked locations, across 3 states, ANR is a fast-moving stable which strives to become the best in the industry. Applicants will have the opportunity to work with some of the most talented horses and people in Australia.
We are able to offer the right applicants the opportunity to travel around the country within our team.
Pay / hours
Casual Horse Handlers - $29.33 - $31.23
4.45am – 9.30 / 10am Monday – Saturday. No guaranteed extra hours. Afternoon & Sunday rostered when available. No accommodation available for casual staff.
FT Salary - $67k- $72K dependant on horse handling skills. Trial & Race days paid extra on top
The full time Stable staff are rostered ( approximately, and differs in each location) 4.45 am – 9.30 am & 1 – 3.30 pm Monday – Saturday ( you have 2 afternoons off, and every second weekend)
Accommodation;
We have 16 staff houses across 3 states
We can offer accommodation to FT salaried staff
Accommodation is in a share house, not onsite and is $225 per week ( way below Sydney rental prices ☹)
They would need their own transport or be willing to look at purchasing a bike or scooter

Usual stable staff duties include;
As a stable, we use WhatsApp to communicate our worklists, rosters and other general information.
Wages are paid fortnightly.
A basic uniform is provided, with the option to purchase additional items if they wish.
Career progression is important to us, and if applicants are interested in advancing their current role ( becoming a barn leader), or considering exploring new opportunities (ie; becoming a treadmill operator, or truck driver) the ANR team will be here to assist.
Punctuality and consistency are crucial qualities to our team environment, and we have high standards that our team meet when it comes to everybody coming together to get the jobs done that make our horses happy and healthy.
Travel
The Pakenham location is eligible for the 88 day regional work – NO accommodation available at Pakenham & applicants MUST have their own reliable transport.

- Taking horses to / from the racecourse
- Taking horses to / from the walker
- Hosing
- Rugging
- Feeding
- Trials & race days
