Summary
Dustin is 20 from Alaska in the USA. 
He has an interesting personal story: raised by his great grandparents with 3 older brothers. 
He has been brought up living and enjoying the outdoor Alaskan lifestyle, and has had working / volunteer roles with his local tribal council, Ninilchik. 
He is a keen western horseman, (considers himself intermediate level) and is extremely interested in cattle, ranching and western riding and hopes to build up the skills and abilities to become a stationhand on a larger cattle station. 
He is a driver, used to automatic utes and driving in off road / winter conditions, is a keen motorbike rider / owner, enjoys practical tasks and basic mechanics, has some experience of driving ride-on lawnmowers and smaller tractors. 

Work in Australia. 

He has spent just less than 1 month working at Lucy Creek Station in the NT, as a general assistant following flooding. His tasks included dug out watering, troughs, general manual labour, cleaning, weed whacking or whipper snipping, cleaning saddles. 

Aims and Motivations here in Australia
To build up a wide set of station-hand skills and experience.
He hopes / intends to work for the next 5-10 years in cattle / station and ranch work. 
 
Employment History / Detail
2022 Paid Internship Summer role (4 months) 
As an internship age 16, Maintenance man for the Ninilchik tribal council, involving maintenance of lawns, gardens, streets, cleaning roadside drainage and gutters, and frequent occasional odd jobs  (some paid, some volunteer) around the community on a regular ongoing basis since then. 


2024 - Worked as a line cook for 1 year, in a restaurant in Ninilchik, part time, 10 hours per week approx. 
Preparing and cooking pub food. ​
 
WORKPLACE SKILLS
 
Farm / Livestock / Equine / Equestrian 
Has ridden horses (western) for several years, (started age 17)
Lessons for 2 years, every week. Started to help around pony clubs etc, has ridden barrel racing at 2 rodeos, and some team roping. Has also ridden into the Alaskan countryside and wilderness, Considers himself as an intermediate rider, confident riding at all speeds. 
Had his own horse for 1 year, (2024) which he took to rodeos. 
  
Practical skills / trade skills
Enjoys practical and hands on work, workshop tinkering, some basic mechanical work on his bikes, some basic welding, carpentry and woodwork. 
He enjoys hunting, so has some experience of butchering, and is very keen to learn / do more here if ever an opportunity comes up. 
 
Driving & vehicles 
Holds a drivers licence (automatic) for 3 years,
Motorbike enthusiast, owns 2 bikes, an enduro and a Honda 280cc.
Some experience of mowers and small landscaping / maintenance tractors.
Has driven motorbike, tractor,  and pick up truck (utes) 

Domestic, cook and childcare etc:

Enjoys woodworking, carpentry, making replica viking shields, horse riding and trekking, hunting and fishing in the Alaskan countryside.
