* Preparing and weighing out the horses’ daily feed and preparing individual feed portions.
* Feeding the horses and providing any required supplements or medication.
* Checking and refilling water troughs and making sure the horses always had fresh water.
* Bringing horses in from the paddocks and returning them afterwards.
* Putting on halters and lead ropes and safely tying/handling the horses.
* General daily care and monitoring of the horses’ wellbeing.
* Grooming, brushing and washing the horses.
* learn to picking out and cleaning the horses’ hooves.
* learning Filing/rasping the horses’ hooves as part of their regular hoof care.
* learn to riding the horses.
* Spending time with the horses and interacting with them.
* Taking care of and walking the family dog.
* Cleaning and maintaining the feed/storage shed and keeping the feed area organised.
* Helping with general day-to-day animal care and property tasks.

* Most days followed a similar routine: preparing and feeding the horses, checking their water, bringing them in or out of the paddocks, general care and grooming, and walking the dog
* Other tasks such as riding, washing the horses, hoof care and cleaning the feed area were carried out as needed.

6. Jumbuck Pastoral – Mobella Station (Sheep Station) – 4 weeks
Tagging, lamb handling, fencing, gardening, yard work and general station duties as part of a team of 7.
Aims and Motivations here in Australia
Aims are to stretch himself, trying something new and gaining skills and workplace / meaningful life experience. Very keen to develop machinery and vehicles skills, as well as general maintenance and repair tasks and skills.
He learned following skills:
Sheep and lamb handling, catching and lifting lambs, lamb tagging, and livestock handling.
Checking and maintaining water tanks and pumps, repairing water pipes/pipelines, using hand tools, and general station maintenance.
He would like real hands-on ranch/station experience, especially working with horses for his next job.

He has just completed 2 Months of working on a large sheep station in South Australia, motorbike riding, mustering and yard work with large numbers of sheep as part of a small team on a remote station.
