Summary
Freja is 19 from Sweden, close to Stockholm.
She completed vocational education in Natural Farming Focusing on Horse Management - June 2025.
She is a passionate horsewoman and hopes to follow a career in the Swedish mounted police.
She has worked full and part time as a professional groom / stable hand since 2022 in private stables, alongside her studies.
In Australia
5 months experience on a Thoroughbred Stud here in Australia which she loves and enjoy doing
"I would really like to work with horses again, preferably in a role where I can ride myself. I am also very interested in opportunities working with wildlife rescue or with dogs.
I want to continue developing my work experience, improve my English, and learn new skills. I want to contribute positively to a new workplace by being flexible, reliable, and having a strong work ethic.
I have worked a lot with private horses as well as at a riding school. My tasks included riding, groundwork, walking horses, bringing horses in and out, feeding, cleaning, mucking out, helping children prepare the horses, and assisting during their riding lessons. The work involved a lot of teamwork with colleagues, but also a great deal of independent work and handling different daily tasks.
Through my jobs, I have improved my communication skills, especially in English. I have developed problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under time pressure. My work experience has made me more independent and responsible, as I have had to handle new situations and challenges in a new environment.
Skills
Certified groom (diploma) through the Swedish Equestrian Federation. Experience working at a stud farm in Australia with foals and young horses, as well as experience from a riding school and a private stable in Sweden.
Typical daily duties as a groom include daily care and management of horses, feeding, mucking out stables, grooming, tacking up, and monitoring health and wellbeing. I assist with exercising horses and handling young horses, as well as supporting breeding operations. I also maintain stable hygiene, prepare feed, manage turnout, and ensure all equipment and facilities are clean, safe, and well organised."
