BACK AT HOME
Adrian is 23 from Norway
He completed two years of agriculture school from 2018-2020 and then took a two-year apprenticeship (2020-2022) where he worked on farms and completed the degree certificate.
He studied one year of personnel leadership (2024-2025)
He is still considering his career path but might want to become an agriculture advisor combined with farming.

IN AUSTRALIA
Short contractual role in a sheep property here in Australia
His duties include
General farmwork, herding sheep, vaccinating, helping with cructhing, feedlot work etc.
He drove alot of sidekicks when herding sheep. He also got to use power tools to do maintance work.



Employment History
18–20 years old – Farming apprentice from 2020-2022 (full time, 40 hours a week, paid). He worked full time as a farmhand on three farms. He milked cattle, fed and worked with beef cows and alpacas. He also did fieldwork and general farm tasks. He worked in the forest with a chainsaw and in the tractor workshop dismantling old Massey Fergusons.
 
19 years old – VN Link (2021, paid). He worked as a holiday worker during his break from farming. In this job, he worked in a team driving around changing large rubber bands for factories and businesses. (Paid seasonal worker, around 40 hours a week).
 
20–present – Smurfit Westrock Norge AS (2022–present). On-call substitute and seasonal worker (paid). This is a cardboard factory where he works in smaller teams converting cardboard into boxes using stationary machinery. This job developed his mechanical skills. (Full time, 40 hours per week in summer; part time the rest of the year).
 
21–22 years old – Farm Services Sør-Øst Trøndelag (2023–2025, part time when needed, paid). He worked with farmers needing extra help, including milking cows, herding sheep, and stable work. Mostly evenings and weekends.
 
22 years old – Torshus Folk High School (2024–2025, paid but mostly volunteer work). He worked with students, supporting them between teachers and peers, living with them, training, helping, and arranging social activities. This role taught him a lot. (Full time, residential, hours not counted the same as other jobs).

He hopes to develop practical and social skills, improve his English, gain confidence, and stay positive and open-minded.

FARM AND WORKPLACE SKILLS

Farm / Livestock
His apprenticeship covered farmers’ daily tasks, including extensive livestock work (cows, sheep, alpacas). He worked in grain and grass production, completed daily tasks at an alpaca farm, and helped in stables. He also worked with sheep through a replacement team. In spring, he travelled to Scotland to learn sheep shearing and earned a course certificate.
 
He also runs a hobby farm with chickens, ducks, pheasants, dogs, and emus. He has helped in horse stables when needed. Because he mainly worked on small farms, he gained broad experience in repairs and diverse tasks.
 
He enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing, camping, and more.

Equine / equestrian
He started riding at age 12, mainly in forests with Northlands horses, riding about three times a week for a couple of years. In 2018, he visited a ranch in the USA and learned western riding. After a long break, he resumed in 2023 with Icelandic horses on evening forest and hill trips. He worked in a stable while riding, completing tasks like feeding and cleaning. He also worked as both a volunteer and a paid stable worker on some evenings.


Practical skills / trade skills
He has gardening experience from school, work, and his hobby farm. He also does small private landscaping jobs. He enjoys carpentry, such as building small shelters and fences for animals.
His trade skills are primarily based on general agriculture and industrial work.
