He took redundancy from there and has been travelling in Europe, Africa and Asia for the last 6 months with his friend Andrew.

Aims and Motivations here in Australia
JB is keen to build up all round farm and livestock skills to be bale to access rural work for up to 3 years in Australia.
He is particularly focused on Livestock and all round farm work, work with farm vehicles etc, and hopes to use this knowledge to transition to a vet career in the future.
JB is deeply interested in improving his knowledge of animal welfare and husbandry. His long-term goals include veterinary studies, so he is eager for as much exposure to animals as possible. He also aims to become more proficient in operating heavy machinery, improve carpentry and metalwork skills, and develop as a horse rider.

Performed duties across the shop floor, stockroom, and tills. Opened and closed the shop regularly. Worked weekends, minimum 16 hours/week.

Assisted in manufacturing medical valves, with focus on validation and testing. Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm.

He also worked in the milking parlour and helped with silage collection, driving tractors during summers for three years (10-hour days, two weeks annually).

JB considers himself a beginner rider, capable of walking and trotting. He has minimal experience with stable or groundwork but has occasionally helped care for a neighbour’s horse.
