Dec is from a family farm in Lancashire UK.
He is currently a Masters student at Harper Adams agricultural University, studying for a degree in agricultural engineering.
This included a placement year as a dairy engineer installing, maintaining and testing GEA milking parlours. He is committed and well into his agricultural career and is especially interested in gaining large-scale livestock experience here in Australia.

2020-present – Livestock hand, Gisburn Auction Mart (saleyards) - weekends
2020-present - Bentham & District Farmers Auction Mart Co Ltd (saleyards) 20h / wk
2020-2023 – dairy and sheep farm, part time 15h/wk
Growing up – present – family farm, 220 beef and 900 sheep part time
Aims and Motivations here in Australia
‘I want to learn new farming techniques, machinery operation, and sustainable practices used in Australian agriculture and improve my adaptability by working hard in a new environment.
I wish to use international experience to strengthen my resume and open doors for future roles in agriculture where I can apply insights gained in Australia to improve farming practices back home or in future projects.
Currently in 4th year of a master's degree in agricultural engineering at Harper Adams University
As part of my degree I completed a placement year as dairy engineer Installing, Maintaining and testing GEA milking parlours.
In the future I wish to work in the develop of precision livestock and agricultural technologies where my practical skills can be used whilst additionally putting my problem-solving and design skills to the test.’
