PROFILE DETAILS
Back Home
Chris is from Holland.
He completed high school with a focus on general business classes. This time included 9 months of construction work, as well as a 1.5 year internship at a workwear company, which included driving and delivery duties.
He has since spent significant time working on a beef cattle farm, working at his parents’ cheese shop, working in DHL warehouse and planning department for DHL Logistics, delivery driving, and during this time he also completed one year of construction education.
In Australia
6 months experience on a horse property in NWS which he loves and learned a lot
his duties include but not limited to:
"I gained extensive animal handling experience while working there. I worked closely with sheep and lambs, including mustering, herding, and lamb marking, which involved ear marking, tailing, and general stock handling in the yards. I also gained strong and practical experience with horses. My daily tasks included feeding, basic health checks, cleaning stables and yards, and regularly moving and handling horses, including young horses. Through this work, I became confident working around horses in different situations and environments. In addition, I regularly assisted the veterinarian by helping to safely restrain and control horses during medical treatments and routine checks. I also worked closely with mares and foals, assisting with moving, handling, and keeping both animals calm and under control, particularly during veterinary visits. This required patience, awareness, and a strong focus on safety for both the animals and the people involved.
During this job, I gained experience riding quad bikes, motorcycles, and buggies for daily tasks around the property. These vehicles were mainly used for moving around the land, checking animals, and supporting general farm work. On my previous job, the use of larger machinery was mostly limited to long-term staff, so there were fewer opportunities to learn how to operate heavy equipment. Although this was sometimes challenging, it motivated me to learn as much as I could with the equipment I was trusted with. I’m very keen to expand my skills further in my next role and would really like the opportunity to learn how to operate larger machinery and equipment as my experience and responsibility grow."
