Olds college veterinary technical assistant diploma dual credit program. 2 out of 4 years completed of an bachelor of Science in Animal Health with a major in food animals. At the University of Alberta.
Employment History
Butterfield acres farm- farmhand, offsite employee (mobile farm) and camp counsellor.
Caring for a variety of animals including horses, goats, sheep, cows, chickens, alpacas, llamas, yak, geese, emus. Drove animals from place to place in an old farm truck was required to care for all animals load and unload onto the truck and give animal talks to educate the public about the animals.
Initially Volunteered 2020-2021, then moved to full time staff 2022-23, part time staff summer 2024.
Pet planet - (Pet supplies store) cashier and product advisor, part time June 2022-2023 15 – 20 hours per week
Heartland vet clinic veterinary assistant and receptionist- full time for four months summer
assisted with a variety of procedures, cared for animals with high needs, feeding and cleaning enclosures. 2024 – 40 hours per week
ALES mini internships- farmhand/milker-full time for program length(one work week) February & November 2024
Aims and Motivations here in Australia
Eager to gain more experience with large animals and their health. Would like to develop further skills associated with livestock and learn the processes for how they differ between Canada and Australia.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
Farm / Livestock
Experience with daily and monthly farm chores, moving groups and individual animals. Large amount of Vet assistant experience on smaller animals, and some experience with larger animals. Relatively experienced and long hours of physical labour with things such as clearing and moving pens. Experienced with bottle feeding, decent experience milking goats and some experience milking cows.
Equine / equestrian
She rode horses more when she was younger however in recent years she have not had much opportunity and have lost skills a little. However, she is experienced in catching, moving, saddling and leading horses. Have lots of experience in leading horses while kids were riding.
Has worked occasionally in stables
Driving & vehicles
With licence - auto only (can drive manual vehicles) has also regularly driven an old farm truck (automatic), has driven side-by-sides.

She frequently cooks for herself and groups of up to 8-10 people. Was a camp counsellor at a summer camp working with animals and the children.
