Louie is from Winchester in southern England.
He has completed high school and has studied sports science at college.
He has been brought; his grandfather was racehorse trainer and his aunt owns a livery yard, he has developed a love for horses over several years and is determined to work and study to learn to become a farrier. He also hopes to make Australia his home and forge a career in the Australian equine industry.
Employment History
His work history is varied. It includes work at a farm shop, two months of work experience with the farriers, and since 2020 he has been working for a recycling company, in which he has done extremely well. However this is not the career he hopes for. He is a physical practical guy and would prefer to be hands-on and working with horses.
2018 – farm shop general assistant
2019 - two months work experience with chapel forge farriers
2020-22 – Ecogen recycling on site logistics coordinator – all incoming and outgoing recycling traffic
2022-24 – Ecogen reccling – Commodities Manager – buying and selling recycled materials for the company
his roles have included development of IT and CRM systems.
Aims and Motivations here in Australia
His aim is to develop a career with horses / as a farrier. His aim is to gain relevant experience throughout the industry, and hopefully gain a place on an apprenticeship. He hopes to move permanently to Australia to follow this career path.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
Equine / equestrian
Louie grew up with horses. His grandfather was racehorse trainer and his aunt ran a small livery yard. This has given him exposure to horses and farriers and he’s always been extremely interested in this as a career line.
He has done a lot of stable work and has become capable it all aspects of work around the stables and handling the horses from the ground. He considers himself a low intermediate rider (recreational only) and can ride confidently at all speeds. But his interest is working on with horses on the ground in particular being interested in their holistic health.
Driving & vehicles
he has had a full driving licence for six years. Confident experienced driver with manual and automatic. He has also ridden 170cc dirt bikes and quad bikes

Some farrier training, grew up with horses, likes being outdoors doing manual labor. Considers himself good at all round DIY tasks.

A capable cook as his dad was a chef. Happy cooking for himself and sometimes for groups of friends.

lots of interests and has always played lots of sport to a good level. He represented his county as a sprinter, was selected to the London Irish Rugby Academy as a teenager (plays no 12 or 13) and continues to play rugby golf and hybrid physical training / gym work.
