Andrea is from the mountains in the German speaking part of Switzerland
After leaving school she completed training as a gardener / landscaper, in which she has worked all the long summer seasons in Switzerland and taken the opportunity to travel and work in different parts of the world in the wintertime.
Employment History
2014 - one year full-time work on a dairy farm in Canada (ONTARIO)
2015-20 summer seasonal garden centre work, plus landscaping
2020-23 - garden centre production (seeds, cuttings etc) customer service and training apprentices
2024 - garden centre landscaping contracts
has more recently included responsibility for trainees, and she has been working in a team of up to 30 people.
She has also worked regularly on her family’s small mountain farm, caring for cattle in the winter in barns and in the summer on the high mountain pasture. This included dairy cow and calf care, growing and cutting hay.
She has also worked for three months in a bakery.
In the winter seasons she has travelled and worked in Canada, South America, New Zealand, Holland (greenhouses and decorative plants)

Open for everything like to work with animals and plants.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
Farm and livestock
Andrea has been brought up around animals. Her family owns a small mountain farm with 40 dairy cows.
She has some experience of riding and looking after horses as a child.
Driving & vehicles
Has had a full driving licence for 13 years, confident driver in manual and automatic. Used to driving 4x4, small tractors and also minibuses for work.
Practical skills / trade skills
Has a range of experience and skills in landscaping and gardening including use of power tools, small machinery and a smaller site vehicles such as buggies. Some of the larger machinery includes mixes for fertiliser, soil, compost, spraying apparatus, various hand tools, and larger soil handling machinery such as Rotavators.
Domestic, cook and childcare etc
likes to cook, likes to eat healthily, considers herself a good cook and baker, enjoys pickling, preserving, making flavoured syrups etc and of course has experience of making Alpine cheese.
Hospitality and customer service
Used to working in a customer service environment in garden centres.
Hobbies, other skills and interests
Hobbies: gardening, helping out in the yard, baking, cooking, hiking, pottery, swimming, sewing, drawing and travelling.
Personal
Good spoken English, A friendly and very cheerful manner, down-to-earth, engaging and with a ready sense of humour. Enjoys getting involved in all kinds of activities, and gets on well with all types of people.
Fitness
Used to working in a physical and practical environment. Strong and hard-working, good stamina and able to lift. 168cm & 100kg
Medical and Diet
no medical conditions, normal diet but does not eat a lot of meat (half vegetarian).
