SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
Farm / Livestock
Completed in agriculture course throughout high school which involved mustering sheep and preparing them for interview show. Also developed irrigation and plantation skills. Her family previously owned a 600 acre property when she was 8-13. She regularly rode a quad-bike, and would assist with moving our livestock (cattle). Also learnt about the drenching and tagging processes, and was able to help with the feeding of the cattle, chickens, planting trees and food crops, and fencing the property.Her family owned a farm up until 2019 to 2020 in rural New South Wales over this time she helped with the fencing, mustering cattle, planting trees, helping cattle sales, riding a quad bike, looking after the chickens. Most recently she worked at the Cherry Orchard as a cherry picker, cleaning, making up boxes for cherries, marking trees to be cut, handling cash sales, backing cherries into boxes, and weighing.
Equine / equestrian
Novice less than 25 hours riding experience. She has some experience horse riding recreationally on properties and recently she had some formal lessons.
Driving & vehicles
Provisional licence, less than a year. Quad bike with automatic transmission and side by side.
Practical skills / trade skills
Metal work as a subject at school.
Domestic, cook and childcare etc
During year 10 as part of her service, she did work in a year 2 class once a week for two terms. This involved reading to the children, helping them with their classwork and cleaning up after them.
She also did an exchange program to the Netherlands for 3 months during year 10, and had two host sisters aged 3 and 7. In this time, there were occasions when she would get them ready for school, walk them to school, pick them up from school, and watch them whilst her host parents were out of the house.
Hospitality and customer service
Was a waitress for a couple years.
