Florian is 19 from South Tyrol in the alpine mountains of Northern Italy
Graduated from Technical High School specialising in automation, electronics, robotics and programming.
Is exploring different options in either architecture or electronics at university.
Employment History
From a young age till age 19 - worked on the family farm helping with livestock, driving machinery for hay making and other farm work, forestry work etc
Age 15 & Age 18– Bricklayer/Masonry – placing and finishing concrete, creating brick walls, preparing concrete iron, reading plans. Work was mainly for houses in Italian villages. (Summer holiday - 10 hour days)
Age 17 – Internship at a home automation manufacturer company – assembling equipment and interfaces, testing the devices and participation in the production of the devices (2-3 months in the summer holidays)
Age 19 – Police assistant/community police – helping with traffic regulation in his local village, giving information to tourists
Age 19 – Electrician internship – for German company, laying cables, connecting devices, configuration of automation devices within residential homes.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
Farm / Livestock
Grew up on a small farm in the dolomites (alps) in Northern Italy with beef cattle, sheep, horses and forestry.
Has always contributed to the work on his family farm including working with farming equipment like tractors and excavators, and caring for livestock & horses. The family make their own hay from the pasture and regularly undertake forestry work as required.
Equine / equestrian
Intermediate horse rider. Has been riding for 10 years for recreation in northern Italy trekking in the mountains. Is comfortable handling and riding horses from his time with horses on his family farm in the mountains for Italy.
Has lots of experience on the family farm doing ground work for their horses feeding, cleaning, and repairs
Driving & vehicles
Can drive manual, with licence (2 years driving cars).
Has been driving a tractor for 10 years as well as an excavator and other farm machinery.
Practical skills / trade skills
Building, carpentry, construction, wood work, masonry and bricklaying, electronic wiring and installation of home automation devices. Forestry and general farm work
Domestic, cook and childcare etc
Can cook basic meals is eager to learn more whilst in Australia
Personal
Very good English, also speaks German and Italian, is very practical and hands-on, is reserved at first till you get to know him, very approachable and open-minded, likes to be precise in his work, is ambitious and has endurance
