Her aims is to add new skills / experience and perspective to her Ag career.
Main aim is to work with harvest machinery.
Secondary aims are to get hands on in the workshop with welding etc, and also to develop dirt bike skills.
Back Home
Erin is from Saskatchewan, the plains of central Canada, close to the US border.
She comes from a family crop farm and has been brought up around horses.
Erin has completed a 2 year degree in Agronomy in 2024, it was a work study programme that has included lab and field work.
Employment History
Her work history includes work on the family farm since age 12, work as a field and lab agronomist (as part of her studies) and many many hours working with, training and competing with her cutting horses.
Age 12-22 - worked as a farm hand on her family's grain farm, operating John Deere tractors with various attached equipment, CASE harvesters, skid steer, forklift, grain trucks, filling grain bins and pilot car driving when moving equipment.
13-18 - lifeguard and swimming teacher at her local town pool
19 - four months as traffic controller and driving a road packing tractor, full-time
20 - four months as a lab assistant running field trials for a grain product
21-22 - eight months in a uni based study work programme as an agronomist, scouting fields for growth rates, diseases and insects weeds et cetera.
22 - four months part-time horse trainer exercising and training young performance cutting horses with 30 to 60 rides.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
Farm / Livestock
Erin grew up on a family farm, 10,000 acres of various grains, principally wheat.
Her family has particular experience of Kamut.
She has operated harvesters, tractors, various green handling equipment and machinery, principally John Deere and CASE.
Equine / equestrian
An advanced horse rider. She has grown up with horses riding from the age of six, principally Western.
She has shown horses in horsemanship, showmanship, trail and raining events and has prepared and trained horses for cutting competitions. Experience of riding horses from age 3 to 20, with typically 30 to 60 rides, and her role was to teach them techniques of a better trained horse. She has experience mustering cattle, owns two horses herself, one for the last 11 years with which she has competed in many Western events. She is used to riding other people's horses.
Experienced in all aspects of stable work and ground work including lunging, liberty work and the give and release to pressure technique.
Driving & vehicles

Handy and practical. Has basic mechanical and servicing experience, changing oil's tyres et cetera.
She is creative and has built her own horse stalls.
She is particularly keen to learn more about workshop servicing, repair and welding.
