Ellie is from rural Shropshire, in central west England.
She left school at 16, completed an apprenticeship as a warehouse operator age 16 to 19, while working part-time on a large-scale free range chicken egg production farm.
Since completing the apprenticeship she has worked full-time for two years on the chicken farm, and has been given managerial responsibility for development of new site with a team of 4.
This includes responsibility for technical equipment and machinery / egg belts, feed miking etc.
Ellie has worked since age 13, and spend every possible moment working in a chip shop starting as a potato peeler. She continued this through her apprenticeship until she started full-time work.
Skills & Experiences
FARM & LIVESTOCK:
Ellie has been brought up on a small family hobby farm, which has variously had 20 cattle, 300 sheep. Her father is a farm vehicle mechanic so she has been brought up assisting him and driving small tractors and other vehicles for as long as she has been able to reach the pedals.
EQUINE / EQUESTRIAN:
Occasional experience around horses, helping and visiting other country friends. Novice riding ability, and some experience of general stable work. Happy to work with and around animals, and very keen to learn / do more wherever possible.
DRIVING, VEHICLES, MECHANICAL:
Full driving licence for four years , confident manual driver.
Can drive quad, tractor, truck, and forklift.
500+ hours per year on the forklift at the chicken farm.
PRACTICAL & TRADE SKILLS:
Fair mechanical awareness and basic mechanical skills. She has been brought up helping her father and his mechanical workshop.
Also has general practical skills around property renovation, painting, decorating, basic fixing and tidying et cetera.
DOMESTIC / CHILDCARE ETC
Capable of cooking for herself and family.
Confident and happy around younger children - she has been brought up looking after her two younger cousins (now age 16 and 7)
HOBBIES, OTHER SKILLS AND INTERESTS:
Her father is also an amateur rally driver, and she is a registered navigator, so she rallies with him and has been supporting his rallying for the last 12 years.
Also enjoys paddle boarding, walking with her dog, hiking.
