WORK IN AUSTRALIA
Jelena have worked as general assistants on a cattle property for an agreed short period, and then were offered a dairy role, which she did for 2 weeks before being called home to Belgium for a funeral.
They have since worked together on a family cattle and mixed property, working in combination on inside and outside tasks.
She received positive reports from the employers in both places.
Duties included
Shannendoah - cattle property
This included feeding a 4 horses, pigs, chickens and some dogs, bringing in horses on quad bikes.
Also maintaining the garden and cleaning the house. This was for a short period as agreed with the employer. Positive reference available.
Dakota Pastoral - dairy farm
We always started with cleaning the troughs, did some general farm work, droving cattle with quad bikes, milking 920 cows and finished our shift by cleaning the platform. This was for a short period only before needing to head home for a funeral.
Kanangra, Moses Family - 3 months approx.
Jelena: Some fencing and mustering, cleaning, gardening, cattle work (like vaccinating)
Skills / experience gained
Basic skills in tractor driving, trucks, general farm duties, fencing, general repair, lawnmower, a couple of weeks of experience driving quad bikes, even 2wd on a rainy day in mud without getting stuck.
I've been riding a street motorbike for several years, also got a bit of experience on a dirt bike.

Jelena is from Belgium. She is travelling with her boyfriend Jan, and they hope to work at the same location.
Back Home
She has a degree in linguistics and literature, and will study for a Masters.
Along the way she has worked as a babysitter on a few occasions (when under 18) and a grocery store as a summer job, starting as general employee and becoming an cashier / manager, and most recently an office worker in the Belgian Govt mail service.
Skills
Learner driver. Provisional driving licence obtained in September 2022. Had 10 hours of driving lessons and practiced with parents. Very keen to continue learning here if possible.
Fairly good cooking skills for her family, and also some childcare babysitting in her teens.
Personal
Easy going and open minded character, smiley, friendly, very good English and also French and some Spanish, as well as native Dutch. Also caring for her pets (cat and labrador) and baking (cakes and other desserts)
Hobbies: enjoys running and swimming, 178cm & 57kg
